What is IMS

Intramural Sport (IMS), is a free programme of sports available to all students at Loughborough University. We organise 40 different sports leagues and 1 day events where Hall teams compete against each other, all year round. With nearly 60 fixtures per week, there's always something to get involved in, from all the mainstream sports, to things like archery, 10 pin bowling or canoeing.

It's a great way to get involved in Hall life, meet new people, play some new sports, or all your favourite sports from school. Even if you aren't playing IMS, many people just enjoy supporting their Hall and friends by cheering them on. Get Involved!

How it all works:
Hall of residence teams compete in each sports league or event throughout the year and are awarded points dependant on their final position in each.

The Hall with the largest points total at the end of the year is deemed the winner (men's and women's scored separately), and the Hall with the largest total when the men's and women's totals are added, is deemed the overall winner.

Different sports are worth different amounts of IMS points, see Men's or Women's Sports (from contents Menu) to see the hierarchy.

Most league matches are scored 5pts for a win, 4pts for a draw, and 3pts for a loss.
