Rules

1. The competition will be played under the normal requirements for Cricket with the following exceptions:

a) Teams will play 8-a-side. Squads can be altered between games.
b) Each innings will be of 8 overs.
c) 3 bowlers will each bowl not more than 3 overs. Underarm bowling is not permitted.
d) A batsman will retire on making 20 runs but may return if all the wickets have fallen.
e) An innings will comprise 8 wickets. The 7th batsman will act as a runner for the final wicket. However, the runner can be run out which will conclude the innings.

2. It is essential that matches start at the scheduled time. Teams not ready to start at their alloted times will forfeit the game. Please ensure that the change-over between wickets and innings is as short as possible in order that matches can be finished within the one hour that is allotted.

3. 3rd and 4th places will be decided on the best runs per wicket score in the knock-out part of the competition. 5th to 8th places will be shared between those eliminated in the first knock-out round who will receive equal points.

4. Responsibility for the cricket bag will be held by the first named team in either the pool or knock-out matches. Arrangements for the passing of this responsibility to the teams following on, in order to avoid wasting time, will be published prior to the event.

5. 8 overs per innings (25 minutes allocated in which to bowl these) The 8th over must have started within 25 minutes (umpires to be time
keepers)
When 25 minutes have elapsed the umpire will signal to the scorer that allocated time has passed - the scorer will make a note of how many overs (including part overs) that have been bowled.

The team bowling will continue and finish the 8 overs This team will then only be allowed to face the same number of overs (and part overs) that they managed to bowl in their 25 minutes, when they bat.

Their target score will be the total score achieved by the team batting first accumulated in all of their 8 overs.
