The Robert Howard Bowmaker Trophy >TOP

This trophy, for Intramural Sport, was presented to the University by the parents of Bob Bowmaker, a student in the Chemistry Department from 1953-56, who was a victim of the Asian Influenza epidemic in October 1957. From 1956-7 to 1960-61 the competition was organised on an inter-departmental basis, but from that time it has been an inter-Hall competition.

The Phoenix Trophies >TOP

These trophies have been donated to be held by the Hall, not winning the Bowmaker or WIVAB trophies, which show the most improvement from the previous year.
Until 1989-90, when the Women's Trophy was presented, all events were included towards the one trophy. Each Hall will gain one point for every place it improves over the previous year's final position in each individual competition.
A Hall re-entering a competition will gain one point and an additional point for anything better than 7th place. New events will not be included.

The Pat Stone Trophy >TOP

Although this trophy has been explained previously, it is fair to say that without Pat Stone, IMS at Loughborough might not exist, therefore this is to reiterate that the Sports Development Centre decided to award this trophy to the Hall with the biggest combined points total (Overall winners), to commemorate Pat's commitment and service to the programme.

Indivuidual Sport Trophies >TOP

Perpetual Challenge Trophies are awarded to the winning Hall in all the individual sports. These trophies are retained by the Hall for one year, during which time they are responsible for their safety. Halls losing trophies will be required to provide a replacement the same as the one which is lost.
(Halls are responsible for trophies once they have signed for them and, should they be lost, will be responsible for providing an identical replacement following discussions with the programme director).
