Points Scale 'A' - Men & Women
Entry lists required.
* If you have competed for the University in any competition, or are selected for future competitions, you are ineligible. If you train with the Athletics, Cross Country or Triathlon club you are not eligible.
Similarly, University Track Athletes are NOT permitted to enter Field events, or vice versa.
The competition for both men and women will be held jointly on one evening. The date will be published towards the end of the spring term when the track bookings can be confirmed.
Rules:
1. Each hall may enter two competitors for each event and may nominate a pool of ten reserves who may fill in for any event. Each athlete, including reserves, must be allotted a number by the Hall.
2. Each competitor may enter a maximum of two track and two field events with no restriction on entry for relays (i.e. a competitor may enter 2 track, 2 field + 2 relays - total of 6 events).
3. Ineligibility: Members of the Athletics Club who have represented the University, or are selected for future competitions will be ineligible for the Intramural Athletics competition.
4. Each athlete who takes part in the competition will gain ONE point which will go towards the final total. Competitors must complete the entire distance of the race to gain this point.
Points in the finals will be as follows:
1st= 7 pts; 2nd= 5 pts; 3rd= 4 pts; 4th= 3 pts; 5th= 2 pts; 6th= 1 pt
Points for the relays will be doubled.
5. If a competitor gains a place in the final and is then unable to take part, a replacement is NOT permitted. He will receive one point as if he came last in the event.
6. In the event of a tie in the final placings, the Intramural points will be divided equally.
